Painting with photography: Daniele Calvani's inspiration, born in Lugagnano, starts with “colors”. The artist uses a unique photographic technique combined with a good amount of improvisation. Another remarkable ingredient is the “randomness” which plays a relevant role in his artworks: the final effect given by “randomness” to his masterpieces, which the artist wants to instill in his audience, is surprise.“Painting with photography” because, with long snapshots and by moving the camera, solid colors fade, losing their consistency, melting in one another, acquiring an unexpected hue! The reality of the subject taken into consideration changes, losing its physical characteristics whereas its traces remain but they cannot be understood. Calvani's first “artistic” part is followed by a second one dominated by “reason” which, however, always takes inspiration from the artist's heart: this second part encompasses the choice of the snapshots and their combination in different compositions (collage, overlapping or just the simple presentation of one single snapshot). The artwork dimensions contribute to the artist's final aim: a complete immersion of the observer who can contemplate the colors and the geometry of the artwork. Finalist of the “Premio Arte 2015” and protagonist of the exhibition held at “Palazzo della Permanente” last fall in Milan, Calvani has a long history as painter.
